Word Consulting Ltd supports new limited companies by coordinating the key steps involved in getting set up, from company incorporation through to arranging professional support for areas such as VAT, CIS and PAYE.

Yes. By working with qualified accounting professionals coordinated through Word Consulting Ltd, your financial records can be kept accurate and up to date. This gives you clearer visibility over your business, helping you make better-informed decisions and reduce the risk of costly mistakes — while you focus on running the business.

Changing accountants is usually a straightforward process. Word Consulting Ltd helps make the transition smooth by coordinating the change on your behalf, including liaising with your previous accountant and supporting the transfer of relevant records.

Where required, we can also arrange introductions to qualified accounting professionals, who can request the necessary information and, once appointed, manage HMRC authorisations directly with you.

ACCOUNTING SUPPORT

The deadline to submit a Self Assessment Tax Return online is 31 January following the end of the tax year. If you are submitting a paper return, the deadline is 31 October.

Many people choose to complete their return earlier to avoid last-minute pressure. Word Consulting Ltd can help coordinate the process and connect you with qualified professionals who can prepare and submit your return ahead of the deadline. Submitting early does not change the payment deadline, which remains 31 January.

HMRC uses your UTR number to help them with your tax record. UTR number is a 10 digit reference number which identifies your business. You‘ll normally be sent a UTR number after you registered yourself for Self Assessment. Your UTR number is usually shown on any letters or emails between you and HMRC. If you can‘t find any letters or documents from HMRC with your UTR on, you might be able to find it by signing into your Personal Tax government gateway account. But, if you still struggle to find it, contact HMRC as soon as possible.

Word Consulting Ltd does not supply accounting software directly. However, we coordinate support through qualified professional partners who use a range of leading accounting platforms. Where appropriate, we can help you understand which software may be suitable for your business and support the onboarding process through those professionals.

This allows you to connect bank accounts, manage records efficiently and stay prepared for tax obligations — with the right setup for your circumstances.

TAX REBATE/TAX REFUND SUPPORT

When you are owed a HMRC tax refund, it is because you’ve already paid too much income tax. Loads of people don’t even realise how many of their day-to-day expenses could qualify for tax relief.

HMRC typically processes tax refunds within 2–4 weeks, though additional checks can extend this to 8–10 weeks. Word Consulting Ltd coordinates professional support, but refund timings are set by HMRC.

Yes, you can. When working on a CIS basis you usually are taxed at a very high rate (20% or 30%) and no free tax allowances.  If you had any work related expenses (travel, materials and tools etc) you can claim these expenses and receive your paid CIS taxes back.
